Today, while picking up and flushing Ruby's poo (my life is v.glamourous no?) I found a needle in her turd... proof that she did jump on the couch on Sunday and also quite probably, ate one of my felt plush donuts. I shall keep my eye for beaded dog poo...
So kinda a gross way to start a new post, but hey, that's my life, kinda gross. I've been alternating between being really busy and being really lazy, both states are not condusive for blogging. I've been spending a lot of time in the sun and I've got a nice tan to show for it. No burns yet, mostly due to my militant application of sunscreen and a fear that has been induced by having really pale friends. I've also spent alot of time bonding with Netflix, "Mad Men" and "Arrested Development" to be specific.
Ruby has been mischevious. Occasionally the Boy, who is wrapped around Ruby's furry little paw, convinces me that we can leave her with roaming privileges when we go out. The past Sunday we left for one hour, to try the new "Blue Star Diner" that opened up down the block... we come back and one of my felt plush donuts is missing, one of my needles is missing, and there are craft supplies all over the floor. This is worrying because I moved most of my craft stuff onto the counter, off the couch. This means that Ruby climbed onto the couch, onto the arm rest, possbily ONTO THE COUNTER, and knocked stuff down... and then proceeded to eat a fucking needle. So far there are no syptoms of an intestinal obstruction or puncturing, but she is on a close watch... I spend a lot of time scowling at her.

She may be cute, but she'll be in my bad books until she passes my fucking donut
A few other things I have been up to:
I participated in Calgary's first Audio Mob, which was fun once I got my Ipod synched with the mobs, there was a lot of duck-duck-goose, one might say there was too much duck-duck-goose

Oh Hey, someone took a picture of me and my kickin' Battle Axe!
I went to Drumheller and got pulled over for the first time ever... I got two speeding tickets in July...
that is lame
This picture, however, is not lame
I went to Taste of Calgary and succeeded in spending $80 in 90min... Never doubt my abilities to queue
I bought two new Cameras (okay, Boy bought me one), a Fish Eye 2 and a Russia Day Lomo (note the sperm feature)

I like the Fish Eye effect, but this camera is bulky as hell

Exactly the same as my old Lomo LC-A+... only red, and it came in a fancier box
I started crafting again, more specifically, making felt plush pastries (hence the above donuts). The theory is, if I can't allow myself to eat high fat, (delicious)sugary carbs, then at least I can make them, and then look at them, and them pine after them... it's like a sad teenage girl and her Edward shrine... but with donuts and cake. I might start making a pizza scarf soon too...
I went rafting and didn't drown

Note the relaxed foot (belonging to Dani I believe), and the paddle...distinctly not drowning
I became the lead organizer for the Calgary Pugsters, since the former organizer got a last minute job offer in Northern Alberta... I'm a few steps closer to becoming the Crazy Pug Lady
I've lost 3lbs! But I don't feel any size difference, so I'm not going to count my eggs just yet. I'm participating in a 6 week Body Transformation program at my gym starting in Sept. It's basically the same as the Stampede Detox, only it lasts for 6 weeks. I get unlimited workouts and a meal plan (which I never follow cause I'm awful, or meal plans are awful...take your pick) My goal is to loose 10lbs before I leave for Asia, because I know this vacation will be a ridiculous food fest and I'll probably gain at least 10lbs while I'm gone. (I'm going to the Tokyo Ramen Show for Christ's Sake... an entire expo... devoted to RAMEN!)
