Camera Stuff

So my LC-A+ broke... I took it camping and used the cable release to take some long exposure photos with sparklers, and somewhere between those photos, my bag, the flat tire, the rain, the worst cold I've had in years, the rain, allergies, the whiniest pug EVER, and the rain, my camera broke. I didn't notice it was broken until I tried to take a picture of some sweet Pokémon graffiti by my place (when do you ever see Pokémon graffiti? Never!), and then realised that one side of the top of my camera had popped off, the shutter button was stuck, and the film advance wheel would spin and spin and spin. I was pretty sad. That night me and the Boy did our best Lomo surgery to try and fix the ol' Gal but the shutter didn't open and the lights didn't come on, and oh it was hopeless... we were tired and I was super bummed out and frustrated. Then we went to bed, and I woke up the next morning with the way obvious revalation that I probably needed to buy new batteries. DUH!  With new batteries the Lady has come back to life... I think. I shot a test roll last night that I'm going to get developed tonight. (Dear Blacks, don't fuck me around with your 1hr photo this time!) When we put the camera back together we ended up with an extra bit of light blocking foam, which we don't where it fits, and one of the bits that hold the top of the camera to the body did snap off completely, so we'll see. Hopefully she's back in working order, and I can spend my precious monies on buying new and different cameras instead of a (very expensive) replacement.

If my LC-A+ is back to working order, then I have the nice task of cleaning up all the glue and re-upholstering her, since I tore off all the fake leather grip from the front to get at her innards. Luckily I just got a nice stash of fabric from The Dainty Squid
I had my eye on a Superheadz Slim & Wide but the LSI La Sardina is looking to be the best choice for a cheap-ish wideangle camera... besides, one of the models has a squid on it!

That being said, I have coupons and a GC to spend at Dick and Janes and word on the street is that they're getting a new shipment of LSI wares in a few days.
