Attempting not to regress... I am not a whiny 14 year old girl...

I'm super frustrated right now, for a number of reasons:
  • The Well Database I keep trying to load keeps crashing (four times and counting!)
  • Said Well Database also crashed my computer... twice
  • I finally gave up, deleted said well database and am recreating it from the bottom up... it's taking a fucking long time
  • My friends are being stupid and it's generating jr. high-esque drama, that I really should be over, but I'm not, because inside, I'm still 14
  • Ruby broke into a bag that was on a chair and ate a huge chunk of cornbread...and tinfoil
So instead of writing an overly hyperbolic LiveJournal post detailing all my woes, I'm going to write a Blog Post about stuff that has made me happy over the past week.

The sun has finally come out. I ran out of multivitamins, and I don't think my body has even noticed, so happy is my brain basking in the sun.

I rewatched WALL-E, and I think I now have to buy it. (I borrowed it from the library), included in the super awesome blu-ray version is the short BURN-E, which is hilarious, and watched twice. I also had a weird moment during the movie where I panicked because no one was home to hold my hand...
I made cornbread and it was delicious and plentiful. That is until the Pug got at it. I gave about a quarter of it, wrapped in tinfoil, to my friend Coll, who put it in his bag, which was on a chair. We then went out to a concert. We got home, the bag was on the floor and there was tinfoil and cornbread crumbs EVERYWHERE... it was also 1am, and I was pretty drunk, and in no condition to vaccum, but it had to be done... uhg!

I went and saw Electric Six at the Gateway! They came as part of Sled Island, which I have my reservations about as a music festival, but I actually really enjoyed the show. Four bands played, and I liked 3 of them, which is a win in my books. The first band really wanted to be Morrisey, they were good, but not every original, but since I enjoy mopey 80s pop, it was alright, I think they were called Morse, or Moose...just looked up, they were called Mode Modern. The next band, Orgone, was from LA, and they played really energetic Funk/Punk numbers, and they were super good. Mattandy bought all their CDs. The thrid Band was Electric Six, which I have lots of love for, and then there were the Ravonettes, we stayed for maybe half their set and then left. They're aparently very popular, and they have the whole synth-echo machine sound that is very popular right now, but it doesn't really do it for me. They played two songs, that actually had a beat, and were a bit harder, and I like those two songs, but the rest of the set (that I saw) didn't really do it for me. To each their own I suppose.

I made oshi-zushi, using marinated roasted peppers, grilled zucchini and candied salmon. Not particularly authentic, but really tasty, and a neat way to make sushi. Also way less work than actual rolls or nigri.

This week I only have to be at work for the 3 days, this is great, however paying attention and staying focused at work for those three days is not so great.

I'm making enchiladas tonight!

That's about it. I feel better now, more centred, less rage-y. Drink more tea, eat less carbs... yes...
